Partnership and Business Development Division (PBDD)
 
PBDD was established in 1996 to help secure additional funding for IDRC-supported research. With the creation of PBDD, IDRC developed a systematic business development approach to donor partnerships, which supports the Centre's core programmatic efforts.
 
Situated within the Program and Partnership Branch, PBDD works closely with IDRC’s programs and facilitates the development of donor partnerships for IDRC.
 
Mandate
  • Initiate, build and help maintain long-term relationships with other donors dedicated to the development of Southern research capacities;
  • Participate in proposal development, negotiations of agreements and financing;
  • Strengthen the financial sustainability of IDRC research partners by enhancing their ability to mobilize resources.
