Former IDRC Doctoral Research Award recipient Jennifer Ball has been awarded the 2009 Forster Medal, the University of Guelph’s most prestigious award for graduate students.

Ball, who recently received her PhD from the university’s School of Environmental Design and Rural Development, completed her dissertation on women and peacebuilding in Uganda.

IDRC, having funded this research, has contributed significantly to the success of my research and I would like to acknowledge again my sincere appreciation.” said Ball. “I look forward to future opportunities for such successful collaboration.”

The award is named for the late Donald Forster, a former president of the University of Guelph, and recognizes academic achievement, motivation, leadership, and citizenship.
