The World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ) has selected seven journalists to attend the International Ecohealth Forum 2008, taking place in Merida, Mexico, December 1-5.

Selected from 85 candidates from 42 countries, the journalists will meet and interview some of the world’s top experts on health and the environment during the five-day forum.

The winning candidates are:

  • Bernardo Esteves, Brazil
  • Christophe Mvondo, Cameroon
  • Dominique Forget, Canada
  • Eliza Barclay, United States
  • Laura Guachalla, Bolivia
  • Onche Odeh, Nigeria
  • Rossel Yakary Prado Romero, Venezuela

The World Federation of Science Journalists is a non-profit organization representing 37 associations of science and technology journalists from Africa, the Americas, the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. It serves to further science journalism as a bridge between scientists and the public and promotes the role of science journalists as key players in civil society and democracy. IDRC has been supporting WFSJ since 2006.
