Prev News 77 of 193 Next

World AIDS Day is a time to remember the millions of people around the world whose lives have been, and continue to be, affected by HIV/AIDS.

Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC) supports action research to address the multiple dimensions of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The Centre’s support is primarily concentrated in sub-Saharan Africa with a focus on:

  • identifying and bridging knowledge gaps to ensure that interventions are implemented effectively and can be adapted to different health systems and cultural contexts;
  • understanding the complex relationship between livelihood strategies, vulnerability, and HIV/AIDS; and
  • exploring the role of information and communication technologies in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
