IDRC Governor Angela Cropper has been appointed as the Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Cropper is President of The Cropper Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization committed to sustainable development. She’s expected to take up her post at UNEP in February 2008.
